Bulldog Women's Tennis Drops League Home Tilt Against Northwood

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis team suffered its first loss of the 2015-16 campaign on Wednesday (Sept. 16) as the Bulldogs dropped a 7-2 decision to rival Northwood in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play.

The visiting Timberwolves jumped out to a 2-1 lead after the doubles round and proceeded to capture five of the six singels flights en route to the win at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center.

NU improved to 3-1 overall and in conference play while FSU now also owns a 3-1 overall and GLIAC mark this campaign.

Ferris State's doubles duo of Lauren Lomax and Janie Sell were 9-8 winners at the number three doubles flight and Nika Hein posted a victory at second singles by retirement to account for the Bulldog points on the day.

The loss snapped a season-opening three match win streak for the Bulldogs.
