Ferris State Women's Tennis Falls To Tiffin In GLIAC Tournament

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis team fell to the Tiffin Dragons by a 5-2 score in the opening round of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament on Friday (Oct. 23) night in Midland.

The Bulldogs and the Dragons squared off for the second time this season in the first round of league tourney play, but TU jumped out to a 2-1 lead after the doubles round and then held off FSU in singles action.

Tiffin's lead following the doubles round came by virtue of a tight match at the third flight, which the Dragons captured by a 9-7 score.

Ferris State entered the league tournament as the number five seed with Tiffin seeded fourth in the eight-team field.

Action at the conference tournament continues on Saturday (Oct. 24) with second-round play at 3:45 p.m. (ET). The final round is on Sunday (Oct. 25) starting at 8:15 a.m. (ET).

The Bulldogs will face eighth-seeded Walsh in Saturday's second round consolation bracket action.
