Ferris State Women's Tennis Falls In GLIAC/GLVC Crossover Opener

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis squad suffered a 8-1 setback to Rockhurst (Mo.) on Friday (March 17) as the Bulldogs opened action at the 2017 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC)/Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Crossover in Plainfield, Ill.

The Hawks captured two of the three doubles flights and then swept the six singles positions in beating FSU in day one competition at the inaugural event.

Ferris State's lone triumph came at three doubles where the tandem of Sydney Berens and Arien Kissinger posted an 8-5 victory.

With the setback, FSU fell to 9-7 overall this season. RU improved to 5-2 overall with the neutral site win.

Ferris State continues action in the GLIAC/GLVC Crossover on Saturday (March 18) by facing Maryville (Mo.) in a 4:30 p.m. (ET) tilt. FSU then wraps up the inaugural event on Sunday (March 19) against Lewis (Ill.).
