Ferris State Suffers GLIAC Road Setback To Warriors As Three-Match Trip Begins

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis squad opened a three-match weekend road swing on Friday (Oct. 13), but dropped a 6-3 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) road decision at Wayne State.

The host Warriors grabbed a 2-1 lead following the doubles round as they claimed wins at both the first and third spots in the lineup. FSU's lone win in doubles action came from the tandem of Nicole Meylor and Lauren Lomax by an 8-5 score.

In singles action, Ferris State picked up wins from Nika Hein at the number one flight in straight-sets along with Arien Kissinger at the sixth spot.

However, the Warriors managed to post wins at the two, three, four and five positions in the middle of the lineup to secure the triumph.

With the setback, the Bulldogs now own a 3-3 overall and league mark to date this year.

FSU next heads to Ohio as the Bulldogs will face Tiffin on Saturday (Oct. 14) starting at 10 a.m. (ET) before facing Ashland on Sunday (Oct. 15) in a 1 p.m. (ET) league encounter.
