Ferris State Suffers Setback To Northwood In GLIAC Home Contest

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis team suffered an 8-1 setback to Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) rival Northwood on Saturday (Oct. 21) inside the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center.

The visiting Timberwolves claimed two of three doubles matches to take the early edge and then swept the singles round en route to the triumph over the Bulldogs.

Ferris State's lone win came from the number three doubles pairing of Nicole Stay and Arien Kissinger, who were a decisive 8-0 winner.

The Timberwolves' doubles wins included a pair of close three-setters at the fourth and sixth flights in the lineup.

With the setback, FSU fell to 4-5 overall and in the GLIAC this year.

The Bulldogs will play their final regular-season league match on Sunday (Oct. 22) as they host the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals at the Racquet and Fitness Center. Match time is set for 10 a.m. (ET).
