Women's Tennis Suffers Close Loss On Day Two Of GLIAC Tournament

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis squad suffered a 5-3 setback to Michigan Tech in round two of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament on Saturday (Oct. 28) at the Greater Midland Tennis Center.

The sixth-seeded Huskies held off the seventh-seeded Bulldogs in the consolation round after both squads had suffered an opening round setback on Friday in the annual league tournament.

With the loss, Ferris State will now wrap up tournament action on Sunday (Oct. 29) versus eighth-seeded Ashland starting at 8:15 a.m. (ET) in Midland.

The Bulldogs dropped to 4-8 overall this season with the setback.

Michigan Tech won two of the three doubles flights and then clinched the match by claiming three of the first five completed singles positions.
