Ferris State Women's Tennis Suffers First Setback On Spring Trip

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis team suffered its first loss on its spring break trip as FSU fell to Newberry (S.C.) by a 7-2 score on Tuesday (March 6) at the Spring TennisFest in Hilton Head, S.C.

The Bulldogs dropped the three doubles flights, but did manage to capture two singles victories in the non-league setback.

Ferris State's Nicole Meylor was a 6-4, 6-3 winner at the number three singles position with Madelyn Groulx taking a 6-3, 6-1 decision at six singles.

However, Newberry managed to take four flights in the singles round in straight sets as FSU dropped to 6-10 overall this year.

The Bulldogs are back in action on Wednesday (March 7) against Davis & Elkins in Hilton Head starting at 8 a.m. (ET) before closing out the Spring TennisFest event versus Salem International on Thursday (March 8) beginning at 11:30 a.m. (ET).
