Women's Tennis Wraps Up Busy Stretch Of Four Matches In Five Days

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis team wrapped up a busy stretch of four matches in five days with a 5-2 setback at Lake Superior State on Sunday (Oct. 7) in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.

The Bulldogs dropped the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) road tilt as the Lakers bolted in front early by picking up the doubles point and held FSU off in singles action.

Ferris State got a doubles triumph from the number three pairing of Sam Stephenson and Nicole Meylor, but LSSU managed to win the first and second spots to claim the point.

In singles play, the Lakers swept the top four spots in the lineup, including a three-set victory at three singles. The Bulldogs got a victory from Brittany Lavenant in three-set fashion at the five spot with Meylor claiming a straight-set win at six singles.

FSU fell to 2-3 overall and in league action with the setback.

The Bulldogs will return home on Saturday, Oct. 13, as they host Wayne State starting at 10 a.m. (ET) at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center in GLIAC play.
