Women's Tennis Bounces Back For Big League Home Sweep Over Ashland

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis squad bounced back in a big way as the Bulldogs topped visiting Ashland 7-0 in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play on Sunday (Oct. 14) at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center.

The host Bulldogs swept the doubles round to pick up the early point with the closest matches in doubles play coming by a 6-2 score at both the first and second spots in the lineup.

Ferris State then took all six singles flights with five of the six coming in straight-sets along with a three-set triumph at the fourth position.

With the win, Ferris State improved to 3-4 overall and in the GLIAC this season.

The victory also snapped a three-match skid for the Bulldogs, who have two remaining league matches on the regular-season schedule this fall.

FSU will next visit rival Northwood on Saturday (Oct. 20) for a league tilt in Midland before taking on Saginaw Valley State on Sunday (Oct. 21) in University Center, Mich. Both matches get underway at 10 a.m. (ET).
