Two Ferris State Tennis Players Garner All-GLIAC Honors This Fall

Big Rapids, Mich. - Two senior members of the Ferris State University women's tennis squad recently earned All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) honors for the fall season.

Seniors Nika Hein (Nittel, Germany) and Nicole Meylor (Wauwatosa, Wis.) attained all-conference recognition in voting by the league's member head coaches announced last weekend in conjunction with the GLIAC Tournament in Midland.

Hein was one of nine standouts from across the league named to the All-GLIAC First Team while Meylor was an honorable mention choice for the Bulldogs.

The duo capped off a big fall season by helping lead the Bulldogs to fifth place with a victory on Sunday (Oct. 28) in the 2018 GLIAC Tournament held at the Greater Midland Tennis Center.

The fifth-seeded Bulldogs topped sixth-seeded Lake Superior State by a 4-1 count on the final day of league tournament action. Overall, FSU won two of its three contests at the GLIAC Tourney in Midland.

Ferris State finished the fall season by winning three of its final four matches and the Bulldogs were victorious in four of their last six overall.

FSU is tentatively slated to open the spring season on Feb. 10 against Hillsdale in regional road action at 3:30 p.m. (ET) in Hillsdale, Mich.
