Ninth-Ranked Florida Southern Secures Win Over Bulldogs As FSU Wraps Up Spring Trip

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis squad finished its spring break trip to Florida with a 7-0 setback against nationally ninth-ranked Florida Southern on Friday (March 15) at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center in Lakeland, Fla.

The hosts claimed the doubles point by winning two of the three flights in the lineup as FSU's lone win came at the third spot by a 6-3 count from the tandem of Brittany Lavenant and Patricia Martin Gomez.

During the singles round, a total of four of the six flights went to three sets as the Bulldogs fought Florida Southern the entire way. FSC, though, managed to pull out all six positions in order to secure the win.

The setback dropped FSU to 10-10 overall this season with the Bulldogs closing out their four-match stretch in Florida.

The contest was the final regular-season outing currently on the slate for the Bulldog women's team this spring.
