Ferris State Tennis Earns Sixth League Win To Begin Weekend Road Swing

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis team claimed its sixth win of the season on Saturday (Oct. 19) as FSU opened a weekend road swing with an exciting 4-3 win at Ashland.

The Bulldogs earned wins at one and three doubles to pick up the initial point in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) encounter and then split the six singles flights to record the triumph.

Ferris State's singles wins included a big three-set triumph from Silvia Verebes at the third flight along with straight-set victories by Isabela Paixao and Morgan Waller at one and five singles, respectively.

FSU improved to 6-2 overall and in the GLIAC with the win.

The Bulldogs will play their final conference regular-season match on Sunday (Oct. 20) as they visit Wayne State for a 10 a.m. (ET) league contest in Detroit.

Following Sunday's regular-season league finale, the Bulldogs will then take part in the GLIAC Championships set for Oct. 25-27 in Midland.
