Bulldog Women's Tennis Falls In First Round At GLIAC Tournament

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis squad fell to rival Northwood in the opening round of the 2019 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament as the Timberwolves scored a 4-0 triumph on Friday (Oct. 25) night.

The Timberwolves took two of the three doubles flights to grab the early edge in the outing at the Greater Midland Tennis Center and then claimed wins at the top three singles positions in straight-sets to earn the victory.

The Bulldogs' number two doubles tandem of Sam Stephenson and Morgan Waller recorded a 6-2 triumph in the contest.

The bottom three singles matches went unfinished as NU had already garnered enough points to claim the win.

With the setback, FSU fell to 6-4 overall this year.

The Bulldogs will be back in action again with round two play in the GLIAC Tournament set for Saturday (Oct. 26) starting at 3:45 p.m. (ET). FSU will face eighth-seeded Purdue Northwest in day two action.
