Ferris State Women's Tennis Beats Wayne State In GLIAC Opener

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis squad won its Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) opener, beating Wayne State 6-1 on Friday (March 19) at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center in Big Rapids.

The Bulldogs claimed the doubles point and won five of the six singles flights in improving to 6-1 on the year. The win was the sixth-straight for the Bulldogs and came over the nationally 23rd-ranked Warriors.

In the league opener, FSU took the top two doubles flights to garner the initial point in the match. The Bulldogs then won five of the six singles positions with two of the wins coming in third-sets overall.

FSU's #2 doubles team was down 3-0, but came back to win the contest.

Ferris State got double wins on the day from Agata Klak along with Morgan Waller and Sam Stephenson in notching the victory.

FSU will host Ashland in league action on Saturday (March 20) with match time set for 10 a.m. (ET) at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center in Big Rapids.
