Bulldog Women's Tennis Comes Up Short In Regional Road Test At Tiffin

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis team came out on the short end of a 6-1 regional setback to Tiffin on Friday (Feb. 17) in road action at the Court One Facility in Sandusky, Ohio.

The Bulldogs fell behind early in the contest and could not bounce back as TU scored the win. Ferris State dropped to 5-2 overall this year with the setback.

The Dragons claimed two of the three doubles flights for the initial point in the contest with FSU's lone doubles win coming from the number three pairing of Sophie Daavetilla and Amelia Laverdiere by a 6-3 count.

In singles play, the Dragons won five of six positions, including one by retirement. Ferris State's Kennedy Dumas did earn a win at five singles for FSU.

"Unfortunately, it was not our day," said FSU head coach Mark Doren. "I was impressed with Tiffin's focus while we struggled through some injuries that happened during the match."

The Bulldogs will try to get back on track Saturday (Feb. 18) as they visit Walsh for another regional road contest starting at 4 p.m. (ET) at the North Canton (Ohio) Racquet Club.
