Ferris State Returns To The Track At Mike Lints Laker Open

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University Bulldogs returned to the track on Saturday (Feb. 1) as the Bulldogs' indoor track and field squads competed in the Mike Lints Laker Open hosted by Grand Valley State at the Kelly Family Sports Center in Allendale.

Ferris State senior Katie Etelamaki notched a NCAA Division II National Provisional qualifying time with a fourth-place effort in the mile run (4:57.77). She also finished fourth in the 3,000 meters (10:09.23).

The Bulldogs' Carissa Schurr placed third overall in the 800 meters (2:17.07) while Kylie Hutchinson came in third in the 5,000 meters (18:33.10). Sophomore Paige Deitering finished eighth in the 5,000 meters (19:18.26).

FSU's Madison Hammer placed 10th in the 600 meters (1:49.05).

The Bulldog tandem of Sydney Dawes, Schurr, Hutchinson and Taylor Thrush came in seventh in the 4x400-meter relay (4:12.60).

Bulldog senior Stanley Williams recorded a sixth-place performance in the 60 meters (7.15) and Brett Robertson was eighth in the 60-meter hurdles (8.88). Williams also came in seventh in the long jump (21-6).

In the men's 5,000 meters, the Bulldogs' Weston Rackley placed seventh (15:25.69) with Donis Harris eighth (15:30.01) and Aaron Jarema ninth (15:34.97).

The Bulldogs were also ninth in the men's 4x400-meter relay as the quartet of Robertson, Ben Menapace, Logan Williams and Ethan Hamilton clocked 3:28.25 overall.

Sophomore Trevor Roznowski finished 12th in the weight throw (44-8.75).

The Bulldogs will return to GVSU on Feb. 14 for the annual Grand Valley State Big Meet in Allendale.
