Bio

The Ferris State University women's volleyball program has started the task of replacing six seniors from this year's NCAA Division II National Tournament team as the Bulldogs today (Dec. 11) announced their first member of its fall's recruting class.

Prep setter/hitter Stephanie Sikorski (Rochester Hills) inked a national letter-of-intent with the Bulldogs during the fall signing period and will embark on her freshman campaign at FSU in the 2013 season.

Sikorski twice earned all-region recognition for Rochester Hills High School and was both an all-state and academic all-state nominee as a senior.  She twice claimed team Most Valuable Player Award recognition under prep head coach Lauren Duquette.

"Stephanie is a great athlete who's quick and dynamic on the court," said FSU head coach Tia Brandel-Wilhelm, who has led the Bulldogs to the NCAA Tournament three of the last four seasons.  "She's also a hungry learner and we look forward to having her as a part of the Bulldog volleyball family."

Sikorski is a four-time all-academic team selection and was a two-time All-Oakland Activities Association (OAA) recipient.  She served as team captain as a senior this past fall.  Additionally, she's also played at the club level for the Legacy Volleyball Club.

The 5-9 Sikorski has also competed in soccer and basketball during her prep career for the Falcons.

Besides athletics, Sikorski has also been active in the school's student council and served as both class president and vice-president in addition to being a National Honor Society member.

The daughter of Gary and Julie Sikorski, Stephanie has an older sister, Sara, and plans to major in criminal justice/pre-law at Ferris State.
