Ferris State Volleyball Records League Road Win At Tiffin

Big Rapids, Mich. - The nationally-ranked Ferris State University women's volleyballl squad rolled to a 3-0 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) win over Tiffin on Friday (Sept. 26) evening in Tiffin, Ohio.

The Bulldogs topped the host Dragons in a 25-17, 25-19, 25-14 decision to improve to 7-3 overall and 5-1 in league play.

FSU was paced by both junior hitter Alexis Huntey and senior Megan Vander Meer, who both netted 10 kills each. Senior Courtney Rehm added nine kills in the balanced effort for the Bulldogs.

Ferris State also received 34 assists and 10 digs from sophomore setter Stephanie Sikorski to go with seven digs by Vander Meer and six from libero Danielle Dowd

The Bulldogs hit an impressive .326 for the match and totaled only 11 attack errorrs on 95 total attempts with 42 kills. FSU also had 30 digs, seven aces and nine service errors while totaling six blocks at the net.

In the opening set of the match, the Bulldogs posted a .426 attack figure before hitting .216 in the second frame and back up to .360 in the final set. Meanwhile, the Dragons' attack percentage fell throughout the match as they started with a .250 opening-set figure followed by a .000 mark in the middle set and a -.083 total in the third.

Lu Phillips had 10 kills in leading the Dragons while Taylor Lattimore contributed 16 digs. Tiffany Buchinger netted 21 assists.

The Bulldogs improved to 7-3 overall and 5-1 in league play with the victory over the Dragons, who fell to 4-5 overall and 2-4 in the GLIAC.

Ferris State is back in action on Saturday (Sept. 27) as the Bulldogs visit Ohio Dominican for a 2 p.m. (ET) league showdown.
