Ferris State's Allyson Cappel Chosen As GLIAC North Player Of The Week

Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University sophomore outside hitter Allyson Cappel has been tabbed as this week's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) North Division Player of the Week.

Cappel had a big weekend as the eighth-ranked Bulldogs won their first two conference outings on the road.

Cappel tallied 42 kills with 19 digs, three aces and two blocks in FSU's back-to-back 3-1 road decisions over Purdue Northwest and Davenport on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 15-16, respectively. She totaled 21 kills in each match while adding seven digs versus Purdue NW and 12 against the Panthers.

Overall, she averaged 5.25 kills and 2.38 digs per set while hitting .333 overall for the weekend.

Cappel and the Bulldogs are back in action Tuesday (Sept. 19) as they host the Northwood Timberwolves starting at 7 p.m. (ET) inside the Ewigleben Sports Arena.
