#7 Bulldog Volleyball Races Past Visiting Northwood In League Home Encounter

Big Rapids, Mich. - The nationally #7 ranked Ferris State University women's volleyball team topped the Northwood Timberwolves 3-0 in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play on Tuesday (Sept. 19) night inside the Ewigleben Sports Arena.

Senior middle hitter Ayanna Buckley shined with a season-high 16 kills, and added four total blocks in the winning effort, as Ferris State handled the Timberwolves 25-17, 25-20 and 25-17. Buckley lit up the board as the senior hit for a .556 attack percentage to pace the Bulldogs.

The Timberwolves struggled, as they hit for a negative attack percentage as a team in every set for the match, topping out at -.027 for the evening. The Timberwolves had at least 10 errors each in the second and third sets while the Bulldogs ran away in the final frame by hitting .300 with 12 kills.

Defensively, senior libero Lauren Reminga led all players with 17 digs with junior outside hitter Katie Placek adding 12 overall. Redshirt freshman setter Maeve Grimes had 32 assists, and the Timberwolves combined for just 19 in the match.

As a team, Ferris State registered 14 block assists in the match en route to 10 total blocks. Northwood did not register a block in the match. Allison Getty led the Timberwolves with seven of the team's 21 total kills.

The Bulldogs remain at the top of the GLIAC with a 3-0 conference record. At home, Ferris State boasts a 5-0 mark and FSU is currently 9-2 overall. 

Ferris State faces off next with the Michigan Tech Huskies on Friday (Sept. 22) at 7 p.m. (ET) inside the Ewigleben Sports Arena before finishing up its three-match homestand against the Northern Michigan Wildcats on Saturday (Sept. 23) beginning at 3 p.m. (ET).
