Ferris State Volleyball Wraps Up Regional Crossover In Setback To Nation's #1 Team

Aurora, Ill. - The nationally 13th-ranked Ferris State University Bulldogs fell to nationally #1 ranked Lewis (Ill.) to cap the Midwest Region Crossover Volleyball Tournament on Saturday (Oct. 14) at the Great Lakes Center in Aurora, Ill.

Redshirt sophomore outside hitter Courtney Brewer finished with nine kills to lead Ferris State, though the Bulldogs fell 3-0 (25-13, 26-24, 25-20) in straight-sets while wrapping up an appearance in the nation's largest collegiate volleyball tournament.

Ferris State hit .057 on the attack, while the Lewis Flyers hit .205 for the day and were led by Aly Schneider's 12 kills.

Senior libero Lauren Reminga had 17 digs for Ferris State while junior outside hitter Katie Placek had 12 overall. At the net, senior middle hitter Maria Kronner had five total blocks for the Bulldogs. 

Both teams had 12 kills in the second set, though Lewis was able to pull away in the hotly-contested middle frame.

With the loss, Ferris State fell to 15-5 overall.

The Bulldogs next get set for a weekend Ohio swing as they take on Ashland on Friday (Oct. 20) at 7 p.m. (ET) followed by Tiffin on Saturday (Oct. 21) at 5 p.m. (ET) on the road in GLIAC action.
