Bulldog Volleyball Suffers Conference Road Setback In Ohio

Ashland, Ohio - The nationally-ranked Ferris State University women's volleyball team dropped a 3-2 road decision to the Ashland Eagles on Friday (Oct. 19) night in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play in Tiffin, Ohio.
 
The Bulldogs fell to AU by scores of 25-21, 18-25, 22-25, 25-21 and 15-10.
 
Senior middle hitter Ayanna Buckley led the team with 20 kills and a .425 hitting percentage. Senior middle hitter Maria Kronner was close behind her with 18 kills and a .385 hitting figure. 
 
Sophomore outside hitter Allyson Cappel had nine kills along with two solo blocks and an assist at the net. Meanwhile, sophomore setter Maeve Grimes and Buckley both had four block assists each. 
 
Junior outside hitter Katie Placek, Grimes and Cappel each also had an ace for the match.
 
Overall, Grimes had 53 assists for the match while senior libero Lauren Reminga had six.
 
Reminga had 20 digs for the evening with Cappel trailing right behind her with 18 digs. Grimes and freshman outside hitter Katie O'Connell netted 13 and 12 digs each, respectively.
 
The Bulldogs compiled 67 kills and a .232 hitting percentage along with 63 assists, 83 digs, 10 blocks and three aces. 
 
Ferris State dropped to 15-6 overall and 8-2 in the GLIAC with the setback. 
 
Ferris State will next take on the Tiffin University Dragons on Saturday (Oct. 21) at 5 p.m. (EST) in Tiffin, Ohio.
