#10 Ferris State Volleyball Rolls To GLIAC Road Win At Lake Superior State

Big Rapids, Mich. - The 10th-ranked Ferris State Volleyball squad rolled to another Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) victory as FSU beat Lake Superior State 3-0 on Saturday (Oct. 27) in Sault Ste. Marie.

The Bulldogs took the first set 25-11 and then won the second set 25-21 before pulling out a 25-17 triumph in the third to finish the match.

Junior middle hitter Allyson Cappel tallied a team-high 13 kills while junior middle hitter Mekayla Carey notched 12 kills.

FSU also got 24 digs from senior libero Katie Placek along with 12 by Cappel and nine from junior libero Maeve Grimes, who also had 30 assists.

The Bulldogs hit an impressive .250 overall and came upw ith 65 digs to go with four aces.

LSSU was led by Abby Beachnau's 10 kills. Both Paige Gotham and Mikala Williams had 11 digs apiece.

The Lakers were limited to a .017 hitting figure and came up with 46 digs in addition to six block assists and five aces.

Ferris State improved to 21-4 overall and 14-0 in the GLIAC with the win while LSSU fell to 5-21 overall and 2-13 in league action.

The Bulldogs will host Michigan Tech on Friday, Nov. 2, with match time set for 7 p.m. (ET) inside the Ewigleben Sports Arena.
