Bulldog Volleyball Claims Fourth Consecutive Home Victory

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's volleyball squad jumped in front early and rolled to a 3-0 sweep over Wisconsin-Parkside on Sunday (Oct. 3) in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) action at the Ewigleben Sports Arena.

The Bulldogs won their fourth-straight home match with a decisive 25-3, 25-18, 25-17 triumph to wrap up their weekend homestead.

FSU held the Rangers to a -.056 attack figure with Parkside totaling only 22 kills to go with 28 errors on 107 attempts.

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs posted a .272 hitting percentage and notched 34 kills compared to only nine mistakes on 92 attacks.

Senior Katie O'Connell totaled 12 kills for the Bulldogs while freshman Keona Salesman posted nine kills overall. Senior libero Nina Gorgijevska finished with 11 digs and setter Kaylee Maat contributed 22 assists and 10 digs in the triumph.

No Wisconsin-Parkside player had more than six kills in the match.

FSU improved to 9-4 overall and 4-2 in the GLIAC with the victory. The Bulldogs are also now 7-1 overall at home this season.

Ferris State visits Saginaw Valley State on Friday (Oct. 8) for a 7 p.m. (ET) league tilt in University Center before heading to Wayne State on Saturday (Oct. 9) with match time set for 2 p.m. (ET) in Detroit.
