Bulldog Volleyball Drops Opening Match At Hillsdale Invitational

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's volleyball squad battled nationally-ranked Hillsdale on Thursday (Sept. 1) night to open the Hillsdale Invitational, but came out on the short end of a 3-1 decision at Dawn Tibbetts Potter Arena.

The Bulldogs dropped set one 25-16, but tied the match up with a 25-17 win in the second. The Chargers pulled out a 26-24 decision in the third and then closed out the match with a 25-20 win in the fourth.

FSU was led by Olivia Henneman-Dallape with 15 kills. The Bulldogs' Claire Nowicki added 12 kills and Syann Fairfield had 11 overall.

Additionally, Nowicki totaled 16 digs for the Bulldogs with Leah Bylut adding 15. Setter Kaylee Maat finished with 47 assists and 11 digs while Alina Anderson notched 11 digs.

Hillsdale was led by both Karoline Shelton and Megan Kolp with 12 kills each.

The Bulldogs continue action at the Hillsdale Invitational by taking on Gannon and Colorado Mines in day two action on Friday.
