#22 Ferris State Stays Unbeaten In GLIAC Play With Dominating Road Sweep

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's volleyball squad, which is ranked 22nd in the country, stayed unbeaten in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play with a dominating 3-0 road sweep over Saginaw Valley State on Friday night (Sept. 22) at Hamilton Gymnasium in University Center. 

The Bulldogs improved to 3-0 in conference action by topping the Cardinals 25-22, 25-13, 25-10 in league play. FSU improved to 8-3 overall this season with the triumph.

Ferris State tallied a .305 hitting percentage for the tilt and posted 40 kills compared with only 11 attack errors on 95 attempts. FSU netted 12 service aces and had 47 digs to go with a pair of block assists.

Junior Olivia Henneman-Dallape led Ferris State with 14 kills in a balanced FSU effort. She was the lone player to reach double-digits in kills with both Emma Bleecher and Chelsie Freeman notching six kills apiece.

The Bulldogs also got 30 assists and five service aces from setter Kaylee Maat along with a squad-high 13 digs from libero Leah Bylut. Syann Fairfield added four service aces in the victory.

Ferris State limited SVSU to only a .091 attack figure and the Cardinals mustered 22 kills with 14 attack errors on 88 tries. They also garnered 36 digs with only three aces, but did have 10 block assists and two solo hits at the net.

The Bulldogs will continue their five-match league road swing on Saturday (Sept. 23), visiting Davenport for a 5 p.m. (ET) GLIAC matchup in Caledonia.
