Ferris State Volleyball Wins Sixth-Straight Contest with 3-0 Victory Over Michigan Tech

Houghton, Mich. – The nationally 21st-ranked Ferris State University volleyball team continued its trip in the Upper Peninsula Saturday (Sept. 30) with a dominant 3-0 win over Michigan Tech.

The Bulldogs (11-3) improved to 6-0 in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play and maintained their hold on first place in the conference with the win over the Huskies. 

FSU started with a 25-18 victory in the first set behind a .385 hit percentage. The Bulldogs increased that number to an outstanding .536 in a 25-15 set two win. In set three, the Bulldogs earned a 25-15 victory and cruised to a 3-0 win over the Huskies. 

Olivia Henneman-Dallape recorded a match-high 13 kills in the Bulldog victory. Her .480 attack percentage led the Bulldogs (minimum nine total attacks). She also had a game-high 17.5 points. Claire Nowicki and Emma Bleecher had seven kills each. Leah Bylut led the way with 11 digs while Nowicki added 10. 

Chelsie Freeman had five block assists and contributed 8.5 points for FSU. Kaylee Maat had 36 assists to lead all players. Henneman-Dallape added four service aces.

The Huskies got eight kills from Meg Raabe and 22 assists from Tess Hayes. Kaycee Meiners, Rachel Zurek and Lindy Oujiri each had three block assists. Amelia Albers had eight digs.

FSU had a .386 attack percentage for the contest, while Michigan Tech had a .081 mark. The Bulldogs had 45 kills, 43 digs, 42 assists and 14 block assists. The Huskies had 27 kills, 27 digs, 25 assists and 12 block assists.  

The Bulldogs will wrap up their Upper Peninsula trip Sunday, Oct. 1, against Lake Superior State. Match time is set at 3 p.m. (ET).
