Ferris State Volleyball Falls To #4 Missouri-St. Louis In Final Match At Midwest Region Crossover

Hammond, Ind. – The Ferris State University women's volleyball team wrapped up action at the Midwest Region Crossover on Saturday (Oct. 14) against #4-ranked Missouri-St. Louis, suffering a 3-0 setback in the title match.

The #19-ranked Bulldogs (16-3) had won their previous 11 consecutive matches going into their matchup with the Tritons. The loss was FSU's first since Sept. 9 and came in a rematch of last year's Midwest Regional Championship match.

Missouri-St. Louis quickly got out to a lead in the first set and held on despite a ferocious comeback attempt from FSU for a 25-18 victory. The Tritons then took the second set 25-19 before clinching a match victory with a 25-20 win in set three.

FSU got eight kills from Emma Bleecher, Syann Fairfield and Claire Nowicki. Kaylee Maat had 25 assists and Olivia Henneman-Dallape and Fairfield each had 2.5 blocks. Leah Bylut recorded 17 digs, and Fairfield led with 12.5 points.

The Tritons got 15 kills from both Delaney Humm and Lexie Rang. Caitlin Bishop had 36 assists.

As a team, the Bulldogs had an attack percentage of .139, while the Tritons hit .272 overall. FSU had 33 kills, 31 assists and three aces.

FSU will return home to face Purdue-Northwest on Friday, Oct. 20, at 6 p.m. (ET) and Grand Valley State University on Saturday, Oct. 21, at 3 p.m. (ET).
