Bulldog Volleyball Drops Highly-Competitive Five Set Match At Parkside

Big Rapids Mich. - The Ferris State University women's volleyball squad fell on the road Friday (Oct. 27) night against the Parkside Rangers in a thrilling five-set match by a 3-2 score at De Simone Arena in Kenosha, Wis.

Wisconsin-Parkside started strong, winning the first set with a score of 25-22. However, Ferris State fought back in the second set, winning 25-14. The third set was closely contested, with Wisconsin-Parkside ultimately emerging victorious with a score of 26-24. Ferris State refused to back down and won the fourth set 26-24, forcing a deciding fifth set. In the end, Wisconsin-Parkside's resilience paid off as they secured the victory with a final set score of 15-12.

Both teams displayed impressive offensive performances throughout the match. Ferris State recorded a total of 74 kills, with Olivia Henneman-Dallape leading the team with 21 kills. Claire Nowicki also made a significant contribution with 20 kills. On the Wisconsin-Parkside side, Ava Irvin stood out with an impressive 26 kills, while Sam Fisch recorded 15 kills.

Defensively, Ferris State's Kenzy Corstange led the match with 16 digs, closely followed by Leah Bylut and Kaylee Maat with 22 digs each. Natalie Harris from Wisconsin-Parkside showcased her defensive skills with 29 digs.

The match was a battle of skill and strategy, with both teams showcasing their abilities. Wisconsin-Parkside's Karlee Lois exhibited excellent setting skills, recording 55 assists. Kaylee Maat from Ferris State was equally impressive, contributing 62 assists.

\Ferris State, with a season record of 20-5 and a conference record of 13-1, demonstrated its dominance to date in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) in the setback. Wisconsin-Parkside, with a season record of 14-9 and a conference record of 8-4, also proved its strength as a formidable opponent by coming away with the win.

The Bulldogs will next travel to Grand Valley State on Friday, Nov. 4, for a 6 p.m. (ET) league encounter in Allendale.
