Ferris State Volleyball Closes Regular-Season With Home Sweep Over NMU

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's volleyball squad closed out regular-season play by sweeping Northern Michigan 3-0 on Saturday (Nov. 11) evening inside Bulldog Arena.

The Bulldogs bounced back from a setback the day before by handling NMU 25-12, 25-16 and 25-11 in a dominant performance.

With the win, the Bulldogs concluded regular-season play at 22-7 overall and 15-3 in the GLIAC.

Ferris State hit an impressive .313 for the match, including a .522 figure in the third and final set. The Bulldogs also limited the Wildcats to a .045 showing.

FSU was led by Olivia Henneman-Dallape with 13 kills and Claire Nowicki with 11 kills.

Meanwhile, Nowicki also paced FSU defensively with 12 digs with Leah Bylut adding eight digs in the contest. Kaylee Maat tallied 29 assists and a team-high five service aces. The Bulldogs also got three blocks from Chelsie Freeman.

NMU was led by Jacqueline Smith with nine kills and Lauren Van Remortel with 20 assists. Caylie Barlage had 10 digs.

The Bulldogs finished with 37 kills overall to go with 42 digs, 10 service aces and six blocks. NMU managed 23 kills, 33 digs, three blocks and an ace.

Ferris State will host Purdue Northwest in the quarterfinal-round of the GLIAC Tournament on Wednesday (Nov. 15) at Bulldog Arena. Match time is to be announced.
