FSU's Katie Etelamaki Earns All-America Honors As Two Bulldog Runners Race At D2 Championships

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's cross country squads each had a runner compete in the 2018 NCAA Division II National Championships on Saturday (Dec. 1) in Pittsburgh and the Bulldogs came home win an All-American.

Bulldog junior Katie Etelamaki placed 16th overall in the women's 6K event as she clocked 23:07.4 in earning All-America laurels.

Meanwhile, Bulldog senior Damien Halverson placed 185th overall in the men's 10K race in a time of 35:48.1 overall.

Both Bulldog individuals were competing in the D2 National Championships for the first time in school history and it represented the first time in which the Bulldogs had both a male and female individual runner compete at the same time.

The championships were held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, at the Bob O'Conner Golf Course at Schenley Park as part of the Division II Fall Sports Festival. Clarion University of Pennsylvania, Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania and SportsPITTSBURGH served as hosts.
