FSU Cross Country Squads Race To Finish At Lansing Invite

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's cross country squads returned to action on Friday (Sept. 22) at the Lansing Invitational.

The Bulldogs sent a selected group of younger student-athletes and competitors to the event, which included teams from across the state at various levels. 

The men's squad fielded a team and came in seventh overall with 251 points in the team race.

The Bulldog men were paced by Ben Knuth, who finished 44th overall in a time of 27:38.9 overall. Ben Degood placed 63rd (28:25.3) with Ethan Hamilton 64th (28:28.5) and Ty Pavlichek 75th (28:43.4).

Meanwhile, Jonah Shephard finished 89th (29:09.4) and Andrew Shafley came in 94th (29:14.0) along the Bulldog leaders.

On the women's side, Kiann Schmottlach was 23rd (20:20.6) followed by Diana Candela in 28th place (20:29.4). Emily Plouff wound up 36th (20:57.6) with Abigail Winkle 98th (23:00.9).

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 30, at the annual Greater Louisville Classic in Kentucky.
