SOMERS, Wis. (Oct. 6, 2012)-- With all five scoring runners placing among the top 35, the University of Wisconsin-Parkside men's cross country squad turned in a third place showing on Saturday at the Lucian Rosa Invitational at the Dannehl Cross Country Course.
The Rangers compiled a team score of 106, finishing three points shy of second place Ferris State University. Cedarville University won the team title at the 15-team event, tallying 73 points while also claiming the individual champion as Matt Brooker toured the 8,000-meter course in 24 minutes, 40.2 seconds.
Evan Lewandowski was the first UW-Parkside runner to cross the tape, placing fourth in 25:07.4.
Cody Kurscheidt was 19th in 25:42.8 while
Ron Hedman was three spots back, completing the race in 25:47.3.
Jesus Escareno was 27th in 25:54.1 while
Eric Lindelsee rounded out the top five in 34th (26:07.2).
The Rangers are idle next weekend before competing at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships on Oct. 20 in Springfield, Mo.
