PRO DAWGS UPDATE: Four Bulldog Products Showcase Ability In Week Eight NFL Action

Big Rapids, Mich. - Four Ferris State University football alums saw action in week eight of the National Football League (NFL) this past weekend.

Bulldog alum Justin Zimmer earned nationwide attention following the biggest play of his NFL career to date. Zimmer forced a fumble by New England Patriots' quarterback Cam Newton with the Patriots driving toward a potential game-winning score on Sunday (Nov. 1) in the closing seconds, preserving the Buffalo Bills' 24-21 home victory as they improved to 6-2 overall this season. Overall, Zimmer played in 23 defensive snaps and saw action on three special teams plays in the victory.

Meanwhile, Zach Sieler helped the Miami Dolpins improve to 4-3 on the year as they topped the Los Angeles Rams at home by a 28-17 score. Sieler started the game up front on the defensive line and finished with four tackles along with three quarterback hits in another strong performance. He played in 65 defensive snaps along with six more on special teams in the victory.

Former Bulldog receiver Malik Taylor had a catch in the Green Bay Packers' 28-22 setback to the Minnesota Vikings. His grab went for 26 yards as the Packers fell to 5-2 on the year. In total, Taylor saw 13 offensive snaps along with 13 on special teams.

Finally, Bulldog alum Tavierre Thomas played on 83% of the Cleveland Browns' special teams plays in their 16-6 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. The Browns are now 5-3 on the season.

Rookie defensive end Austin Edwards, who made his NFL regular-season debut for the Atlanta Falcons in week seven, was not active this past week.

On this week's NFL slate, Taylor and the Packers open the week on the road at San Francisco on Thursday (Nov. 5) night at 8:20 p.m. (ET) in a nationally-televised matchup. Zimmer and the Bills host Seattle on Sunday (Nov. 8) at 1 p.m. (ET) with Sieler and the Dolphins visiting Arizona for a 4:25 p.m. (ET) tilt. The Browns have the week off while Edwards' Falcons host Denver on Sunday at 1 p.m. (ET).

Together, the five Bulldog alums have helped their respective clubs post an overall 22-16 record to date this year and four of the five teams have .500 records or better, including three teams with five or more wins each in Green Bay (5-2), Cleveland (5-3) and Buffalo (6-2).

The five total representatives playing in the NFL for the Bulldogs are the most of any NCAA Division II school in the country. Additionally, a total of eight different Ferris State alums have seen regular-season action on football's biggest stage since 2016.
