Big Rapids, Mich. - The 2021 Ferris State University football season is quickly approaching and the FSU Gridiron Club membership drive is gearing up as the Bulldogs prepare for another exciting season with big aspirations.

This year's membership drive is expected to get off to a fast start as the 'Dawgs return to the field after a year away. The Gridiron Club, in conjunction with the Bulldog Athletic Association (BAA), is encouraging all of those individuals who have not yet renewed or joined the Gridiron Club to do so at this time.

The mission of the Ferris State University Gridiron Club is to build and maintain a spirit of loyalty and pride for Ferris State University Football. As committed partners of the University, the Gridiron Club supports all aspects of the Bulldog Football program by encouraging and engaging alumni, alumni players, parents, faculty, staff, businesses and loyal fans to support the great traditions of Bulldog Football.

Over its many years of existence, the Ferris State Gridiron Club has grown from a handful of fans to over 500 individual members and businesses. The financial support and encouragement of Gridiron Club members continues to inspire coaches and players from year to year. It is this commitment that keeps alive the strong tradition of Ferris State football.

Memberships for the 2021 season are available in several giving levels, starting at only $75 for the year. Among the new benefits coming this fall are Dawg Tags, symbolizing being a member of the Girdiron Club, along with The Dawg Haus, a new hospitality area for Gridirion Club members and football alumni. The Bulldogs, who are the nation's preseason #3 squad by Lindy's Sports, are expected to return a strong nucleus from their 2019 national semifinal squad. FSU will open the 2021 season at home against the Findlay Oilers on Thursday, Sept. 2, at Top Taggart Field with the official kickoff time slated to be announced soon.

The Bulldogs have won each of the last two GLIAC Championships in unbeaten fashion and reached the national quarterfinals four consecutive years, which is the longest streak in the country. Over the past two seasons of action, not counting the COVID-19 impacted 2020 season, in 2018 and 2019, the Bulldogs have compiled a 27-2 mark. FSU ranks as the country's winningest program over the past six full seasons in NCAA Division II football.

Over the last six full seasons at Ferris State, the Bulldogs have compiled a 72-9 overall record and claimed four conference championships, posted four unbeaten regular seasons, captured three regional titles and reached the national quarterfinals four times under Annese. Ferris State has also accumulated three Harlon Hill National Player of the Year trophies, twice had a student-athlete tabbed as the nation's National Scholar-Athlete of the Year and won 12 postseason games in addition to an appearance in the 2018 National Championship game. The Bulldogs' six-straight playoff appearances is the second-longest longest streak in the nation.

Ferris State also holds the GLIAC's best mark and the best overall record of all 21 collegiate programs in Michigan at 87-16 overall since the arrival of head coach Tony Annese in 2012.
