Ferris State Registers Ninth Win As Bulldogs Top Century Mark Against Grace Christian

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's basketball squad topped the century mark on Tuesday (Nov. 26) night as the Bulldogs rolled past Grace Christian 107-83 in non-league action inside FSU's Jim Wink Arena.

Ferris State picked up its ninth win in 10 outings this season as the 23rd-ranked Bulldogs hit 17 three's and dished out 33 assists in the triumph over the Tigers, who fell to 6-5 on the year.

Senior center Cole Walker had a big game for the Bulldogs with a personal career-high tying 35 points on 13-of-16 shooting. He hit five-of-eight three's and made all four of his free throw attempts while pulling down six rebounds.

Walker was one of six Bulldog players to reach double-figure scoring as freshman wing Deng Reng totaled 16 points with junior forward Dorian Aluyi adding 15 points and 14 boards in a double-double effort. FSU also got 14 points from junior guard Walt Kelser along with 12 points by senior guard D'angelo Hughes and 11 from senior wing Greg Williams.

Ferris State jumped in front early and built a 25-7 lead only nine minutes into the game before taking a 50-33 edge at intermission.

In the second half, the Tigers made a run and cut the FSU advantage down to 10 points with 11 minutes to play before the Bulldogs regained control and put the game away.

Ferris State shot 53% from the floor and went 17-of-41 (41.5%) from beyond the three-point stripe along with eight-of-12 (66.7%) at the free throw line.

On the glass, FSU owned a 43-32 rebounding margin and FSU hauled down 16 offensive boards, which led to a 16-10 advantage in second chance production. The Bulldogs also outscored Grace Christian 46-40 in the paint and 32-23 on the fast break in the game.

Ferris State's 33 assists included nine from Hughes along with seven by Kelser. Junior Michael Peterson dished out five off the bench while Williams had four overall.

Grace Christian was paced by Brandon Winchester-Jones, who netted 28 points. Austin Jackson added 19 points and 11 rebounds.

The Tigers shot 49% from the floor and 43% (9-21) beyond the three-point arc, but went only 12-of-24 (50%) at the line.

Ferris State will play its final game prior to the Thanksgiving holiday on Wednesday (Nov. 27) night as FSU hosts East-West University starting at 7 p.m. (ET) inside Wink Arena.
