Ferris State Suffers Road Setback In Weekend Opener At Parkside

Big Rapids, Mich. - The home court advantage fueled host Wisconsin-Parkside as the Rangers topped Ferris State 82-55 in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) men's basketball action at De Simone Gymnasium in Kenosha, Wis.

The Rangers shot over 50% from the floor and limited FSU to only 29.9% shooting for the afternoon in winning the weekend opener between the two divisional counterparts.

While the Bulldogs sank 10-of-14 (71.4%) free throws, they went only five-of-23 (21.7%) beyond the three-point arc for the game. Meanwhile, Parkside connected on 11-of-27 (40.7%) three's and converted 11-of-17 (64.7%) free throws while sinking 51.7% of its total field goal tries.

The Rangers placed four in double-figure scoring, including a game-high 29 points from Solomon Oraegbu. Tray Croft added 13 points with Josiah Palmer scoring 11 points off the bench and Vinson Sigmon notching 10 points.

Senior forward Michael Peterson tallied a team-high 16 points for the Bulldogs with junior forward Mason Pline adding 10 points off the bench. Senior guard Walt Kelser finished with nine points while sophomore forward Deng Reng totaled eight points.

FSU was outrebounded 41-35, but the Bulldogs did pull down 13 offensive boards. The Bulldogs had 12 turnovers compared to 13 for the Rangers.
