Per GLIAC COVID-19 protocols, no fans will be allowed for any round of the GLIAC Tournament this season.

This year, all 12 teams earned berths into the GLIAC Tournament. On the men's side, 10 teams will take part in the tournament as both Northern Michigan and Davenport will not compete due to COVID-19 protocols. The top six teams earned first-round byes, including Ferris State and Ashland.

The remaining four teams will take part in first-round play on Tuesday (March 2) with the winners advancing to the quarterfinals on Thursday. Tuesday's games include #7 Parkside hosting #10 Saginaw Valley State and #8 Lake Superior State playing host to #9 Northwood. The other tournament qualifiers include #1 seed Wayne State, #2 Grand Valley State, #3 Michigan Tech and #6 Purdue Northwest.

A total of four quarterfinal-round games will be played on Thursday with FSU playing in the second game. The semifinals are slated for Friday evening and the championship game is on Sunday in Indiana. Purdue Northwest will host the final three rounds of the league tournament later this week with the women playing in Westville and the men in Hammond.

The winner of the GLIAC Tournament receives an automatic bid into the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Tournament slated to be held March 13-16 in Evansville, Ind.

This year will represent FSU's 21st overall GLIAC Tournament appearance. The Bulldogs made their 20th conference tourney appearance last year, including the 14th in the last 16 years. Overall, the Bulldogs are now 22-18 all-time in league tourney action and captured four-straight GLIAC Tournament Championships from 2015-2018. FSU has won five GLIAC Tournament titles in school history.

Along with winning four-straight league crowns, FSU also previously reached the GLIAC Tournament Championship game as the host institution in 2011 before dropping a 73-71 buzzer beater to Wayne State at Wink Arena. Ferris captured the 1997-98 league tourney title, which was its only previous GLIAC Tourney crown in school history before the recent four-year stretch.

In 2017-18, Ferris State captured a second-straight league tournament title on its home floor as the Bulldogs began postseason play with three-straight GLIAC Tournament wins inside Wink Arena en route to a historic 38-1 national championship campaign.

The Bulldogs will be making their seventh-straight GLIAC Tournament appearance overall this year.

Last year, the Bulldogs narrowly fell 70-69 at home to Northern Michigan in the quarterfinal round after claiming the GLIAC North Division Championship. FSU went on to receive an NCAA Division II Tournament berth before the event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
