Ferris State Standout Walt Kelser Garners All-GLIAC First Team Recognition

Big Rapids, Mich. - Senior guard Walt Kelser (Southfield/Walled Lake Central) has been named to the 2021 All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) First Team as announced by the league office on Saturday.

Kelser was tabbed to the All-GLIAC First Team for the second consecutive season in voting by the league's member head coaches. He was among 10 individuals to earn first-team recognition.

This season, Kelser led the GLIAC in scoring at 20.6 points per game, totaling 16 double-figure scoring contests in 18 outings for the Bulldogs. The veteran standout scored 30 points or more three times, including a season-high 39 points in an 87-69 road win at Parkside on Jan. 16 in Wisconsin.

Overall, Kelser produced 20 points or more in nine games this year for FSU, which reached the GLIAC Tournament for the seventh consecutive season before falling to Ashland in the quarterfinal-round on Thursday in Hammond, Ind.

A year ago, Kelser went on to also receive Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-Midwest Region laurels along with being named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-Midwest District squad.
