Ferris State Men's Basketball Announces Key Sponsorships For Annual Golf Outing

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's basketball program has announced a pair of key partnerships in support of the program's 18th annual alumni and friends golf outing, which takes place on Wednesday, July 28, at FSU's Katke Golf Course.

The event has been renamed "The Stephen Scholler Wells Fargo Advisors Men's Basketball Outing" presented by DP Tire Services. Both entities have offered their financial support of the event, which serves as one of the program's primary fundraising events.

Over the past eight years, more than 100 golfers have taken part each year with the event growing on an annual basis with upwards of 150 golfers each of the past five years. Another potential sellout is expected for this year's event.

"The support we generate from this event is a huge boost to our program and our student-athletes trying to maintain and build on our championship success," said FSU head coach Andy Bronkema. "We're very thankful to these outstanding sponsors for their support and are looking forward to a great day on the golf course."

The entry fee, which is $100 per person or $400 a team, includes 18 holes of golf with a cart, a postgame luncheon at Buffalo Wild Wings following play (if allowed by state rules due to COVID-19), raffle, silent auction and many other activities throughout the round. A great package of team and individual prizes will also be awarded. In addition, members of the Bulldog men's basketball program and various FSU Athletics Department staff will be on hand throughout the day.

Business and individual sponsorships are also available, including tee sponsorships ($125) or a corporate package that includes a foursome and a tee sponsorship for $475. All proceeds from the outing support the men's basketball program.

The Bulldogs, who captured the 2018 NCAA Division II National Championship, have currently won 20 games or more six of the past seven seasons. FSU has also reached the NCAA Tournament five of the past seven years and returns a strong nucleus this coming year along with bringing in one of the country's top recruiting classes.
