Ferris State Opens Trip To Canada With 18-Point Victory At Toronto

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's basketball squad opened a three-game exhibition tour to Canada with an impressive 100-82 victory over the University of Toronto on Thursday (Aug. 25) evening.

The Bulldogs jumped in front 25-22 at the end of the first quarter and pushed the margin to 51-41 at halftime as four 10-minute quarters were utilized. The lead expanded in the third before FSU pulled away for the 18-point win.

FSU was led by sophomore guard Ethan Erickson with a team-high 19 points on six-of-seven shooting from long range. Solomon Oraegbu added 18 points in his Bulldog debut while junior Vejas Grazulis chipped in with 16 points.

The Bulldogs also got 10 points each from both Reece Hazelton and transfer guard Amari Lee.

Overall, FSU utilized 11 different players in the contest and shot 51% from the field while sinking 13 three's in the win.

Callum Baker paced Toronto with a game-high 28 points and Somachi Agbapu totaled 16 points, but those were the only two players in double-digits for the hosts.

Ferris State also pulled down 56 rebounds in the game with Hazelton notching nine and Oraegbu eight for the Bulldogs.

FSU will visit the University of Waterloo on Friday (Aug. 26) for a 6 p.m. (ET) tilt before closing the trip at Western University of Ontario on Sunday (Aug. 28) at 2 p.m. (ET).
