Ferris State Caps Unbeaten Trip To Canada With Overtime Victory On Sunday

Big Rapids, Much. - The Ferris State University men's basketball squad capped off its three-game trip to Canada with an unbeaten record as the Bulldogs topped Western University of Ontario 105-100 in overtime on Sunday (Aug. 28) afternoon in London, Ontario.

The Bulldogs finished the trip with a 3-0 mark after previously beating the University of Toronto on Thursday and Waterloo on Friday evening.

In Sunday's finale, the Bulldogs built a 12-point lead after the opening quarter and held a 10-point edge at halftime. The lead remained 72-65 going to the fourth quarter.

The Bulldogs led the entire way until Western surged in front in the fourth period and the Bulldogs fought back to force overtime, eventually coming away with the win after scoring six-straight points in the extra stanza.

FSU was led by junior Vejas Grazulis along with Solomon Oraegbu and 11 players saw action in the contest.

"Western was a good team and that was a good win," said FSU head coach Andy Bronkema. "We forced big turnovers in the press in overtime and found a way to earn the victory."

Ferris State will return to campus and continue preparations for the 2022-23 season, which begins with regular-season play in early November.
