Ferris State Drops League Road Matchup At Wayne State

Detroit, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's basketball squad fell 68-53 in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play against the Wayne State Warriors on Thursday (Feb. 28) at the WSU Fieldhouse in Detroit.

The Bulldogs built a six-point lead midway thru the opening half of play and led 36-32 at halftime, but were outscored 51-39 in the second half of play.

Wayne State shot 29-of-34 (85.3%) from the line in the win compared to only 11-of-14 (78.6%) on the Bulldog end.

The Warriors got 23 points form Carmelo Harris and 21 by Jordan Briggs in the victory while Carlos Paul III added 18 points and Rob Lee, Jr., tallied 16 points.

FSU was led by junior Tyler Hamilton with a team-high 18 points. Senior guard Ethan Erickson added 16 points in the setback while junior Nathan Claerbaut totaled 13 points.

Ferris State shot 47.5% from the floor, but went only six-of-21 (28.6%) from long range and was out rebounded by a 42-31 count.

The Bulldogs fell to 23-7 overall with the setback this year and 13-6 in conference play.

The Bulldogs will wrap up GLIAC regular-season play on Saturday (March 1) at Saginaw Valley State with tipoff set for 3 p.m. (ET) in University Center.
