Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf squad concluded action in the University of Findlay's Doc Spragg Fall Invitational with a fifth-place team finish after weather forced the cancellation of Tuesday's final round of action.
The Bulldogs shot a 591 figure thru the first two rounds on Monday at the Findlay Country Club. FSU carded a 295 score in round one followed by a 296 total in the second round.
FSU's Jack Weller came in tied for fourth overall with a 143 total on rounds of 73 and 70 in the first two rounds.
Meanwhile, senior Seth Terpstra tied for 35th in the field at 149 as he shot a score of 73 in round one and a 76 in the second round.
The Bulldogs' Tom Hursey was tied for 45th overall with a 151 figure while Jason Martinus was a shot behind at 152, which was good for a share of 48th place. Hursey carded a 79 followed by a 72 while Martinus opened with a 73 before shooting a 79 in the last round.
Finally, senior Andrew Hammett wound up tied for 58th overall with a 154 score on rounds of 76 and 78 on the first and last 18 holes, respectively.
A total of 16 schools took part in the field with Indianapolis notching a 574 total in winning the event.
The Bulldogs will be back in action on Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 29-30) at the Hawkshead Invitational in South Haven, Mich.
