Ferris State Golf Teams To Compete In GLIAC Championships This Weekend
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's golf teams will compete in the 2021 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships Friday thru Sunday (April 16-18).
The event will be held this year in Augusta, Mich., with action at the Gull Lake View Golf Club and Resort near Battle Creek. This year will mark the fourth-straight time in which both tournaments have been held at the same venue at the same time.
The 2021 GLIAC Championships will continue the format established two years ago with each league school competing in 36 holes of stroke play with a single round per day on both Friday and Saturday. The low four of five scores will count towards the respective team score for each squad.
Following round two, the top four teams will advance to head-to-head medal play on Sunday with a bracket format similar to the current format utilized at the NCAA Championships. The two winning teams following semifinal-round play will advance to the finals in which a GLIAC Champion will be crowned.

The men will be first off the tee on both #1 and #10 on Friday starting at 10 a.m. (ET) at the Stoatin Brae Golf Club course. The par 71 course measures at 6,742 yards.
Meanwhile, women's teams will open action on Friday at Stonehedge Golf Club, a par 72 course measuring 5,829 yards off the tee, starting with tee times at 1 p.m. (ET) off the first and 10th tees.
Overall, the Bulldog men's golf squad has captured 19 GLIAC Men's Golf Championships in school history while the women's team owns four league crowns to date.
