Bulldog Men's Golf Improves Score By Nine Strokes In Final Round At Doc Spragg Fall Invite

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team improved its final round score by nine strokes as play wrapped up on Tuesday (Sept. 21) at the Doc Spragg Fall Invitational hosted by the University of Findlay in Ohio.

The Bulldogs carded a 296 stroke total for the final 18 holes of action and finished at 906 overall for the 54 holes of action to finish 16th in a highly-competitive field at the Findlay Country Club.

Previously, FSU had shot back-to-back 305 scores in each of the first two rounds held on Monday at the event.

The Bulldogs were led by Nathan Kraynyk, who finished tied for 49th overall at 226 for the tournament. He shot identical 75 scores the first two rounds before notching a 76 in the final round.

FSU's Cannon Risner came in tied for 55th overall with a 227 total on rounds of 77, 76 and 74 for the competition.

The Bulldogs' next finisher was Andrew Proctor in a share of 62nd place overall. Proctor fired a two-under par 70 in the final round after shooting first and second round scores of 81 and 77, respectively, to finish at 228 for the two days of action.

Ferris State's Joshua Jeffords shot a 230 figure, which was good for a share of 67th place in the field. After totaling a 76 in round one, he came back with identical rounds of 77 over the final 36 holes.

Finally, FSU's Mitchell Geik placed 81st in the field at 235 overall, shooting rounds of 77, 82 and 76 in the tournament.

The Bulldogs will next be in action on Oct. 10-11 at The Motor City Invitational in Detroit.
