Bulldog Men's Golf 10th Following Round One At SVSU Spring Invite

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team carded a 314 team score on Saturday (March 19) and presently sits 10th overall following day one action at the Saginaw Valley State Spring Invitational being played in Lexington, Ky.

The Bulldogs finished at +26 following the opening 18 holes of play on the par 72 Kearney Hill Golf Links course in Lexington. The course measured 7,023 yards.

Following day one action, Findlay leads the large field of 19 teams at +7 overall as the Oilers fired a 295 team figure.

Ferris State was led by Thomas Hursey, who carded a 76 and is currently tied for 20th overall.

The Bulldogs' Zach Koerner shot a first-round 78 and sits tied for 36th in the field with Nathan Kraynyk in a share of 46th place following an opening-round 79 figure.

FSU's Shayne Beaufait and Joshua Jeffords both shot an 81 on Saturday and sit tied for 67th individually.

Ferris State's Jason Martinus and Andrew Proctor are both competing as individuals and are tied fro 46th and 58th, respectively. Martinus shot a 79 in the first round with Proctor a stroke back with an 80 in round one.

Action continues with round two play set to begin on Sunday (March 20) at 9:30 a.m. (ET).
