Ferris State Men's Golf Finishes Third At Bulldog Fall Classic

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team battled to the finish before concluding its own annual Bulldog Fall Classic with a third-place overall performance on Tuesday (Sept. 17) at FSU's Katke Golf Course.

The Bulldogs posted an eight-over par score in the last 18 holes of play and finished +19 at 871 for the 54-hole event. Gannon emerged victorious with a 862 figure followed by Rockhurst (Mo.) at 868 in front of FSU.

A total of 10 teams took part in the two-day event.

Ferris State was led individually by McCoy Biagioli, who shot an even par 71 in the final round and finished tied for third overall with a 212 total. He was only two strokes behind champion Elijah Shirley of Rockhurst, who carded a 210 figure.

The Bulldogs' Drayton Cleaver notched a 73 in the last round and placed tied for 13th at 219 alongside teammate Kole Putnam, who fired a 74 on the final day.

FSU's Sam Havey shot a 74 over the final 18 holes and came in tied for 23rd with a 221 total for the three rounds.

Alex Kaems placed tied for 39th in the field with a 228 score and shot a 73 in the last round of action.

Finally, Will Heavisides notched an 83 over the final round and wound up 62nd at 250 for the event.

Ferris State's Shayne Beaufait competed as an individual and finished tied for 18th at 220 overall, which included a 76 in the last round. Additionally, Zach Koerner competed as an individual and was tied for 29th at 222 overall following a 73 in the last round.

The Bulldogs will next compete in the UIndy Fall Invite on Sept. 23-24 in Indianapolis, Ind.
