Ferris State Men's Golf Finishes Eighth At NCAA Super Regional Championships

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team carded its best score of the tournament on the final day and finished eighth overall in the 2025 NCAA Midwest/Central Super Regional as play wrapped up on Saturday (May 10) in St. Joseph, Mo.

The Bulldogs shot a one-over par 285 score on day three to finish at 875 for the tournament. The Bulldogs had shot rounds of 300 on day one and 290 on day two.

Overall, Central Oklahoma came away with the tournament win by carding a 847 total while Missouri-St. Louis took second (862) followed by Missouri S&T in third (866). The Bulldogs were only eight shots out of fourth place as the top four teams moved on to the NCAA Division II National Championships.

The field of 20 squads included 11 schools found in the nation's top 20 rankings, including FSU.

FSU's Zach Koerner placed tied for 12th in the field with a 214 figure on rounds of 73 each of the first two days followed by a 68 on day three. McCoy Biagioli came away with a 25th place finish, notching a 72 in round three after shooting figures of 76 on day one and 70 on day two.

The Bulldogs' Kole Putnam tied for 36th in the field at 220 overall, carding a sore of 74 over the final 18 holes on Saturday following his first-round 75 and second-round 71 scores. Meanwhile, Drayton Cleaver tied for 56th with a 223. He shot a 71 in the final round after previously carding back-to-back 76 scores each of the first two rounds.

Finally, Sam Havey shot a 76 in the last round and finished 99th in the field with a 238 score. He carded an 83 on day one and a 79 on day two before his final-round effort.

The Midwest/Central Regional was hosted by the St. Joseph Sports Commission and Missouri Western University and consisted of 10 teams from the Midwest Region along with 10 from the Central Region. Four individuals from each region also competed in the 54-hole tournament.

This year marked the 20th time in the past 22 years in which the Bulldogs had representation in the NCAA Tournament when it has been held. The stretch of NCAA Championship representation in men's golf ranks as one of the best stretches in the country.
