Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's ice hockey team wrapped up an extended 15-day road trip by completing a two-game sweep of Alaska Anchorage on Friday (Jan. 9) night with a 3-2 victory at Sullivan Arena in Anchorage.

FSU completed its four-game trip to Alaska with its eighth-straight win over the Seawolves to improve to 11-11-1 overall this year and 8-6-0 in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA).

Ferris State though came back to tie the contest at a goal apiece after two periods when junior forward Matt Robertson scored his sixth goal of the season and picked up his team-leading 21st point of the year with a marker that came with only seven seconds remaining in the period at 19:53 of the second.

The Bulldogs then came out in the third period and received a pair of goals from senior forward Justin Buzzeo to take a 3-1 edge. The assist was Denis' seventh of the season while VanWormer notched his fifth helper this campaign.

Buzzeo then scored the eventual game-winner at 16:01 for his sixth goal this season. Sophomore defenseman Ryan Lowney earned his ninth assist on the game-winning goal while senior defenseman Jason Binkley picked up his eighth overall.

The Seawolvs cut the margin back to a single goal at 17:44 when Allen tallied his second goal of the night and sixth of the year with a power-play lamplighter assisted by Jarret Brown and Tatchell. The assist was Brown's fourth with Tatchell tallying his second of the evening and 11th overall of the campaign.

However, Alaska Anchorage could get no closer as FSU preserved the win over the final two minutes of action with senior goaltender and 2015 Hobey Baker Award nominee CJ Motte in net.
